Important Registration Highlights

2024 Registration will work very similarly to last year. No online account is needed. The following are important highlights and/or changes:

• All required information and payment will be collected online through the registration form. Paper registrations will not be printed or collected this year. There are no in-person registration sessions.
• If you are in need of financial assistance and/or a payment plan, complete our Financial Assistance Request Form as soon as possible. 
• There are no fundraising requirements this year. However, each team will be assigned several nights to run the concession stand throughout the season. Team parents/guardians will be REQUIRED to run the concession stand on their assigned dates. We estimate that two (2) shifts will need to be worked per registered athlete and shifts will be approximately 30 minutes long. We will be tracking shifts worked this season. To help ensure that volunteers work their assigned shifts, we will be requiring a deposit or credit/debit card authorization. More information is available while registering. If you work your assigned nights, no added fees will be charged to you.
• ​In an effort to better train and screen our volunteers, all volunteers must complete the following on an annual basis:
  1. Annual Volunteer Application
  2. Request a Background Check (fees will be paid by PYB)
  3. Complete the NFHS Learn "Concussion in Sports" online e-course. This course is free and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
• All events will be added to our online calendar. Events will be updated, cancelled, postponed as required. We encourage you to view it prior to any scheduled events to make sure nothing has changed.
• Minor & Major Division teams will be competing as part of the new Wisconsin River League against other local teams. For the 2024 season, teams will have several away games in addition to games located in Portage. PYB does not provide team transportation to away games. Learn more here.

Player Registration Process

Registration is a simple multi-step process. All steps below must be completed no later than Sunday, March 31, 2024.

1. Complete the online registration form. There is no paper registration form. The sooner this is complete and saved or submitted, the sooner we can assist you with any questions you may have.
2. Pay the registration fee online through the online registration form using one of our accepted credit/debit cards. If you are in need of financial assistance and/or a payment plan, complete our Financial Assistance Request Form.​
3. For the Minor & Major Divisions only: Attend the required Player Draft. (There is no draft for the T-Ball and Coach Pitch Divisions.) Click on an event below for more information:​

Volunteer Application Process

Portage Youth Baseball is a 100% volunteer organization. To keep our program running, your help is necessary. The jobs can be fun and you will get to meet families in the community while setting a good example for our children by showing the importance of community service and volunteering! To become a volunteer, complete the steps below:

1. Submit an Annual Volunteer Application.
2. Request a background check online through our background check provider. PYB will cover all costs for the background check.
3. Complete the NFHS Learn "Concussion in Sports" online e-course. This course is free and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

After completing these three steps (and passing the background check), you will be eligible to volunteer within PYB!
